2-28 day

Yesterday was a public holiday 2-28 day(peace day) in Taiwan so Ciro was home. We went shopping a bit in the morning and found Dylan a Teletubbie (his favourite) puzzle. He loved putting it together after a nap (something he has not been doing much of recently)Then we went to the park..Maya slept for most of the time and Dylan had a great time running around. it was a beautiful day and the park was filled with families. Ciro was blowing bubbles for Dylan to chase and ended up entertaining a whole mob!
Maya is doing great she is so alert and loves looking at her big brother..she has a bit of baby acne at the moment..can't see it too much on the pics...but otherwise all well!!

Lantern Festival etc...

It was Lantern Festival this week. Being that it is the year of the rat the Wen-xin park was decked out with giant Mickey Mouse and friends decor. Dylan loves Mickey Mouse and everytime we drove past the park this week he got super excited and really wanted to go but with the crowds of people we avoided it until this morning. (Of course it would be better at night all lit up but he just loved the characters anyway.)The weather was not great and we had to cut our time short when it started to rain. Adriaan came to play after that and being super tired out we actually managed to get the little guy down for a nap..he has been digging his heels in when it comes to napping:))

Dylan's latest fascination is attempting headstands.. he lifts his feet off the ground for a bit...he is determined to get it right..oh my heart!!

Okay..yes it is a picture of the back of my daughter's head..but she has a lot of hair back there ..a Friar Tuck hairstyle:)

Maya is one month old!!!

Maya is one month old today!! I can't believe it, the time has flown by. She is so alert and loves looking around. She is starting to pull her head up when she lies on her tummy and is getting noisier..lots of new cooing sounds...very cute. Dylan stroked her head so gently yesterday and smiled at his sister... a tender moment ..they are not all like that..he sometimes chooses to ignore her presence when he wants to hug me (squash her) or play (jump on) me. But we are doing okay so far...

A sunny weekend in the parks..

The weather was fantastic this weekend so we headed out to the Art museum on Saturday morning, we had a walk round the grounds and then went into the museum. Dylan really enjoyed the exhibits this time...especialy the interactive ones see video below. You speak into the microphone and the 'audience' applause and lights react accordingly.




Then in the afternoon we went to our neighbourhood park to play with bubbles and have a run around..by the end of all this Dylan was soooo tired and passed out for a good night's sleep!!







On Sunday we went to the Botanical gardens at the Science Museum, another beautiful day. D loves checking out the ponds and throwing 'leaf' boats into the stream. By the way that is Maya in the sling (thank you Sandy) anice way to carry her around that most people seem to mistake as a handbag:)))

Last day of hols

A quick picture update...It was Ciro's last day of holiday today...and the first sunny day in ages. We went for a walk to the park and Dylan was super excited!!

Maya had her first full bath today...a real water baby ...not a tear. She loved it!

The year of the rat etc...

It has been a very quiet new year. The one time of year when you can walk down the street and shops are closed. we are used to and kinda spoilt by the fact that you can buy most things you need up to 10 pm...eerie to walk down the street and find nothing open. Dylan has recovered well from his cold and Maya is doing well...so alert...she likes sucking on her thumb and hand and giving the occasional smile:))

Po has become Dylan's baby..has been seen carrying him in a little box/chair and using the nose bulb to clear Po's nose.:))
