Lantern festival and back to school

The kids made lanterns at home for lantern festival. There is a new teacher at school so we took her on a bit of a tour last Saturday to Changhua to see the buddha etc...then in the evening we went to the lantern festival in Taichung. A long day but lots fun fun. Kids had a great time!

                                   

 If you look carefully you'll see Dyaln at the top of that slide. He loved the place. Maya was keen to go but when she first put her foot on one of the jumping castles she decided against it.

 Yesterday we found a cute little restaurant that is filled with figurines from different movies and shows. The food was nice and the kids loved the decor...okay so did we:)

 There was a group of cosplayers at the restaurant. the first one who wanted a picture with the kids was dressed fairly normally but the second girls wig and painted on moustache...well look at Dylan's face::))

Last week of the holiday

In the last week of the holiday we did a couple of day trips. The weather was still quite cool but at least the rain let up.
We had a picnic up at Metropolitan park...played soccer and flew kites. Maya and I managed to get her kite stuck in the tree and i missed getting a picture of Ciro climbing the tree to retrieve it  successfully!

                                     
We have wanted to visit Chin qing farm for a long time but it is the kind of place that is crazy busy on weekends so we decided to make use of the holiday. It was a beautiful drive up and we stopped at the beautiful 'Swiss garden' on the way up which was fantastic. To be honest the actual farm was beautiful in a sense of scenery but for the kids Flying cow (just below) is much nicer. More animals and everything just seems better cared for. 

Later in the week we went to Flying cow ranch and the kids had a ball feeding the animals especially as now you can feed the baby lambs milk bottles and the baby ducks seed.

 This pulley carries a bucket of food up the goats that prefer altitude with their meal:) 

 The kids thought the 'potty' flower pot was so funny. Below Maya thought she should try to 'water' the plants:)
