Long overdue holiday wrap up

Okay..here goes. I have had trouble posting lately and when i saved to drafts it disappeared...so let's hope this works. Our holiday came to an end and although we had some plans for the hols with illness and typhoons we ended up staying round Taichung...turned out to be just what was needed..we did lots of resting, sleeping long and late. Great stuff!! Back at school the kids are going full day until the end of next week then we all go back to normal schedule.

Batman!

Yummy!

Let me in that pool!!!

We went through to Changhua for the day. Someone took the pic above for us..apparently not noticing the baby in the pram...!!

We went to see Wall.E.... Dylan loved it!

Making cookies for father's day.

We went to yuku island on Father's day (BABA 8/8)

In Taipei my camera battery died at the zoo...so no pics:(. We went up to get Maya'a passport...turns out they spelt her surname incorrectly so it had to be sent back...i wonder how long

Typhoon Fung Wong

Quick note...i took a clip of the typhoon and i am always saying i am going to send something to ireport.. well i did. Next thing someone from CNN in Atlanta phoned and chatted for about 10 minutes , he then said they might use the clip on CNN...Watched out for it and they had it on in the weather report..they first google earthed our district in Taichung and then showed a piece of the clip and mentioned what i had said..:)) So here is a link to the site:))

Stones, swimming , summer

It has been a busy week. Last weekend Ciro started feeling pains and we took him off to the ER..turned out to be kidney stones..he was admitted for 2 days to do more tests etc.. to find them and to help with the pain. Discovered they are small enough to pass through by themselves and so the rest of the week he has been home drinking lots of water and waiting it out ... We have been doing things around Taichung and spending lots of time in out apartment building's swimming pool!! Looks like another typhoon is heading our way for tomorrow/monday..were supposed to head down to Kenting..so we will see how it goes.
Maya had her first taste of solid food and she is sooo loving it!!!! She had rice cereal first and was grabbing the spoon and putting it in her own mouth. Yesterday she had sweet potato and also finished everything in her bowl. In fact when we are getting things ready at the table she gets very excited and starts moaning if we are not quick enough. She also likes her rice biscuits. She is definitely teething at the moment. She is also moving about all over the place..rolling and turning in circles...still yet to crawl forward but she is defintely covering ground in her own way. She can also sit quiet well although she needs cushioning for when she topples over.
Dylan is doing great. We went to the Science museum today which he loves and he is really into animals at the moment..looking forward to getting up to the zoo in the next week or so.
In Taiwan when you find yourself in hospital you had better hope you ahve family to take care of you. Nurses etc administer your medication but that is about all. You can also leave the hospital drip stand in tow to go to the local 7-11.In fact when you are approaching a hospital you may encounter loads of patients in wheelchairs or with drips sitting at the street vendors having a meal. So anyway here is Ciro ..we were going to 7-11 for yet ore water!!

What's that?

Yummy!!

Here let me help you with that...

I like this eating business!!

Posing

Here she goes...

Here i am...

At the pool.

Soccer at the science museum.

Ordering waffles at the Art museum!

Excellent interactive exhibit at the Art museum. You hit the drums and a keleidoscope of colour appears like it comes out of the base of the drum. (Of course the one pic they let me take wasn't on the right setting to get the colours in). Dylan LOVED it.
