Dylan is 5!

Okay so i started off the birthday weekend by finding out that my camera is broken . So took pics with video cam and phone cam...both of which my kids seem to move too fast for. Apologies for quality:) We celebrated D's birthday on the Sunday prior as it is a midweek birthday this year...blah!! He had a little party at school today with his classmates ..no pics only video will try put up later. I cannot believe he is five already.

He got a "Handy Manny" and bike with tools set which he loves!!

Then of course some transformers. The serious face while figuring out the conversion.

A rocket cake...all natural colouring ;)) white is normal...orange = paprika and green = chlorella (algae) Might not believe me but yummy:)

We went to the Taiwan folk park. Dylan loves going to see the old train there and they both love feeding the fish.

Drink break.

Okay...i didn't manage to get train pics that day...battery....endless photography probs:) Here are some from eh other day which i forgot to post. Just a week ago and look at the change in attire from jerseys to sleeveless...Dylan loves "driving" the train

Kenting hols

Sort of on the spur of the moment we decided to go down to the south over the hols..if the weather was good, hotel had place etc. Turned out fantastic. We stayed in the same place we had stayed before and they gave us the same room right near the pool. The weather was gorgeous. Swimming and beach weather all days except the one we were leaving on, it got cooler and the plan was to head to the aquarium on that morning and then back. The kids had a great time. Maya just wanted to "sim" the whole time...at the hotel that is..when it came to the beach she would not put on her costume..she was nervous of the sea, but loved playing on the sand. Dylan loved both of course.

First sight of the sea in a while:) Maya slept through that.

We sort of have a tradition of heading straight to the beach and paddling clothed and all....Maya was not interested in the paddling..healthy respect for the sea.

I just love the identical looks on the faces in this one:)

Dylan's hermit crab...had a good look and put it back.

All tuckered out!

More beach fun

Add ImageMaya's turn...swimming is probably her new favourite thing!!

There is a little Wendy house by the pool so it was a matter of "sim" "play"

Last evening at the rock pools...the water that day was like a pond...so still!!

At the aquarium...Had cam on weird setting so a bit grainy.
Dylan befriended a penguin ..well it was diving after his inflatable sword...some pics before we stopped him...did not want to get thrown out for taunting penguins...:) They were being fed at the time so person inside watched on.

Not the best shot...

swords or light sabers

Semester round up and hols begin:)

At the end of each semester the kids' day care school sends home some pics from that semester...here are a few of them.

We get two weeks off over Chinese New Year...yippee!!First day of the hols we went up to Metropolitan park..the kids love running around there. Maya was collecting stones and of course posing:)

At the Science museum and botanical gardens.
