Post Christmas and New Year

Already 2011 and in a few short weeks little Maya will be turning three!!!! We have had a great coupe of weeks since the last post.
Pics from after Christmas...lots of playing.

Maya loves painting, drawing and anything creative....like her dad:)

More swinging at the park.

I usually have a late class on a Friday of older students. The boss decided to cancel and instead take the kids (those who wanted) and staff to Sun Moon Lake for New Year's eve. We stayed at the youth center which has log cabins...beautiful place. We could catch a glimpse of the fireworks from the place( a big thing this year as Taiwan turned 100 years old). The others walked down to the lake to see the whole thing up close ...our two little ones were way too tired and passed out at 11:00. A beautiful way to start the year waking up with pine trees around and lovely crisp air.

Messing about in the room before everyone else got there.....it was 8 degrees outside.

In the morning Dylan climbed in with daddy to watch some telly.

Just love this one ..

Exploring in the morning.

Umm....no whales about:))

This was our room. Each cabin divided into three rooms.

On Saturday we took a boat ride..this is Dylan doing his "Ahoy"

Maya insisted on sitting in the middle. The grannies behind her spent most of the "sightseeing trip" chatting to and looking at her:)

Some general pics from around the lake...

Back on the boat after a stop to get some mushroom flavoured tea eggs.

Up the tree at the peacock garden.

Messing about back in Taichung.

Christmas fun

It is boxing day and everyone is enjoying their Chrissie pressies..time for a quick update. On Friday Dylan and Maya made cookies for school and Santa Claus. Maya was really into the "dough". I also made the Christmas cake earlier on in the week...we cut into it finally on Friday:))

Naughty Christmas elves.

Santa came:))

Pressie time.....

They both get these "bad smell under the nose" looks on their faces when tearing the wrapping paper:))

Bath toys for these two fish...they love bath time so much and would probably bath ten times a day if I let them....

Santa found some really nice wooden toys at the north pole...Dylan loves fishing games so this set was perfect for him and Maya got a doll house..it is kind of based on old paper dolls. The dolls are magnetic and the clothes attach to them....happy munchkins!!

And of course the Sponge bob pirate ship:))

Hmm...what next

This is what Maya asked Santa for in no uncertain terms....and lucky she was a good girl cos she got it

Going shopping...

And the little artist hard at work..

Dylan as air traffic controller.

Morning coffee...spontaneous kisses as mommy tries a self portrait:)

We went to the park afterward and it was empty!!! Yay!!! Both kids love the swings. Not every park has swings here so they love going to this specific park.

In the evening we went downstairs to check out the Christmas lights...Our building put them up a few weeks ago and they will probably stay up through Chinese New Year....They construct this Christmas tree around the central bell structure.
