UK visit part 3 - Family Reunion

It has been at least 25 years since there was any kind of gathering of the Jamesons. So on the 1st of Feb we were there, Ian and family came over from SA, Michael flew in from Dubai and the 'northerners'Alistair, Moine, Scott, Ross and their respective families came down for the weekend. It was a fantastic day! Dad arranged to have Bruce from Bruce's camera come and take the photos. He managed to capture such great moments. Difficult to pick just a few but here you go :)

UK visit part 2

We went to the Historic dockyard at Portsmouth. Which was an amazing experience. We got to go through 'The Warrior' and 'The Mary Rose'. Unbelievable actually. Also went on a boat ride around the harbour where we could view navy vessels, many of them still operational.

 The shipwright showed us a pistol that still clicked and let the kids pull it. Dylan was in full pirate mode..saluting and 'aye aye' captaining everyone :)

 'HMS Victory'  Lord Neslon's flagship and the ship on which he died.

 Inside the Mary Rose exhibit. They are preserving it and in two years the barriers will be removed but I managed to get some pics.

 Was great for the kids, they had a 'map' to follow, like a treasure map. They had to find things and do tasks as we went through. Loads of fun.

 The Portsmouth tower most noted for the opening day when the exterior elevator got stuck and the mayor was in there for two hours. The lift has never been used since. There is an internal lift too :)

In Chichester at the Cathedral. Such a landmark in the area. William Turner painted it from the canal (previous post) and no buildings are allowed to exceed it in height in the area.

 The Bishops garden. All of this is in the center of the town yet it seems so quiet when you are there.
