A long overdue catch up. Mom was here for three weeks and she has already been gone for one..so here is a recap. The first weekend we went down to Kaohsiung. Did a lot of the touristy thing. We headed to the Old English consulate (from trade days) on the hill overlooking the ocean. We then went to the lotus pond which is surrounded by numerous temples and the famous twin pagodas. It was a VERY hot day!!!! The next day we went across (a short ferry ride)to Cijin island. There is an old fort and a beach area (but it is along the strait ...a bit on the polluted side) We also stopped in at the seashell museum. It was our fist trip to the city and i must say we were pleasantly surprised... also the most helpful and nicest cab drivers I've come across in Taiwan. Was raining when we got to the consulate and the driver gave us a brolly!!
All of us ..don't we look like an advert for Pocari!!!
Maya loves her veggies!!!! Anything green!!
