Around and about

A catch up of pics from some of our goings on. We usually drop dad at dialysis on Saturdays and then explore the area around the hospital. Last week we went to the dockyard again. Our tickets from February give us a years entrance and you can  go as much as you like. The kids love the climbing wall there.

We went for a walk round Portsdown hill. This is near the viewpoint that is always inundated with seagulls. The walk highlighted the History of the region with the site marked where a Hurricane went down in the war and where there are underground tunnels. There was also an old cold war building along the way and then the chalk cliffs.

A murmeration of swallows over Portsmouth.

The Christmas market at Weald and Downland was this past weekend. The autumn colours are just stunning! We had a wander around the market listening to carollers and really feeling the Christmas spirit. Having spent the last ten years in a place where we worked over Christmas , it feels so lovely and festive already and it is not even the end of November!

Guy Fawkes

The fifth of November was Guy Fawkes night so we had some fireworks at home. William and Catherine and their mom Joanna came round and the kids had great fun! On the Saturday we went to the village for the actual bonfire and fireworks display as well as a funfair. It was a bit rainy but nothing some umbrellas and wellie boots couldn't solve.

The rides at the funfair set up in the village (a 5 minute walk from the house.) for Guy Fawkes.
