Bits and pieces

As October draws to a close...lots going on. Dylan and Maya have been tussling a bit this week. She is asserting herself more. He took a water bottle away from her (which we often do because she likes to pour the remainder of the water all over the floor when she has had her fill) She was not done with it and cried. He shouted at her while pointing...so she promptly bit his finger!!!! Of course everybody was in tears after that!!! I relate the story as it was told to me as this all happened on Ciro's watch while i was at work so he had a hectic evening!

Sunday morning the weather was wonderful. Fall really is our favourite season here. Took the kids for a ride...Maya decided she would walk ...which meant one of us had to push her bike...

If Dylan gets up then so must Maya:)

There is nothing like kicking dry leaves....they were all neatly swept to the side....but oh well!!!









Ciro rigged his belt to the bike to help tired boy move along...

Teacher Ida sent home some seeds and planting pots. They did this at school and Dylan loved it so much so she had extra for him and Maya...he loved planting...and they are just starting to sprout.



Every time we leave the house..Our two little ones run tot he end of the corridor and race back to the elevator..i am sure our neighbours love us!! Of course it is usually Dylan who gets there first especially as he makes sure she starts from the wall ....here he is and you can see her in the back and ...

there she comes....

Went to the Jazz festival on Sunday afternoon. Maya felt the best place was right next to the stage:) We sat down for a bit in the center and Dylan was dancing away in the middle of a group ...unfortunately i didn't get a pic of that because i had a wiggly worm of a Maya who wanted to run away...but it was super cute..

In the park Maya befriended this lady...and again i was having a bad picture day...as i put the camera away to go and grab her..lady stood up and started dancing on the spot...Maya followed every move she did. For those who are in Taiwan and see the old ladies having dance class..it was like that ...so funny!



really into the Dylan's latest favourite game...Backyardigans on Nick Jr. Of course Maya likes to get her 5c in! Sh is actuallyTeletubbies at the moment. So often it is what keeps the peace she gets to watch a bit of "Lala" as she calls it while he plays.

Fall is threatening....looking forward to it cooling down...i say this of course as it is still near 30 but last week i was caught dropping the kids off in a cool breeze..so there is hope:)) Some pics of the little'uns...more info when i have more energy:)

Anni, birthday etc...

It has been a while. Busy days:) Also last week was a week of celebrations...Ciro and I celebrated our eighth anniversary and then it was his birthday so lots of fun and not much blogging:) The kids are doing great, getting so big. They enjoy each others company and have some great games and also some fierce arguments:)) Maya is becoming a real little chatterbox and gives a running commentary on everything. They are also starting to gang up on mom... for example if i just want to run downstairs to get something..Dylan will get Maya's bicycle out...and then his own. My quick trip is sabotaged:)) Turns into a bike ride.I will try to post some video and pics from my phone later but here are some pics for now.



At Starbucks the other day..grape juice grins..and Maya had a cup of ice so i gave her another cup to move the ice into...she was doing this very nonchalantly as though she we were not actually allowed to..the look:))

Yay Happy birthday ...oh yes and the bandage on Ciro's arm..he came off his bike coming home the day before..It was raining and a...hmmm....terrible driver reversed onto the road without checking..he slammed on brakes and skidded. HUGE scrape..but it is looking much better now.



Maya LOVES the computer...and unfortunately has found the shut down button!!!!

Maya's wheels

First some background. Maya loves doing everything her brother does. She does realize though that some things are his..like his bicycle. When we take him out for a ride she runs along side and is very happy and excited. So we decided to get her a "push trike" or whatever they are called:)) She was very excited about this..we put her on the bike in the shop..thankfully we had pretty much already decided on that one...it would not have been easy to get her off...she sat very quietly holding on tight..i think waiting to be told she has to get off and then put up a fight..when that did not happen...she kept holding on and the smile grew broader:)) Dylan is pretty happy to have a biking partner too...pics below. All else great just don't seem to find the time to blog:(

Of course she cannot actually pedal she gets pushed but she sees Dylan move and tries to reach her pedals:) He in turn decided to try and ride his bike and pull her along...


He then decided it will be easier if he gets off...

and pushes her...

which she loves!!

We do not make a habit of riding bikes in the house:) but she was so excited we let it slide....for that day... oh yeah and somehow when we were outdoors later...i didn't get any good ones...more this weekend i hope.

Quick update

August has come and time so time for a quick update... We have been back at work for two weeks .. my afternoon group are grade ones and they have successfully exposed me to all their little germs..so i have had a cold for the past week going on two..getting better after a rough week last week. The kids are both doing fine back at school although Maya was not happy for the first few days. Dylan loves his teacher and was also happy to see his classmates.
Maya is chatting a lot "nana (banana) cup, bowl, " oh yes and both of them love "oswald the blue octopus.. she says o..ald"..she is also throwing some elaborate tantrums...complete with a little jig and throwing herself onto a chair/the floor.
Time for bed...some pics but cam was on wrong setting so not best :) Oh yes and due to H1N1 they have closed the pool in our building a month early...no cases here but precautionary..:(((

Homemade ice cream and cones:) We are a no dairy and wheat fam . So managed to make these and had extremely happy kids as a result:) Cones look like crumpets but actually set hard:))



Maya had a nap on the couch and woke up only to nod off again in this position.
