Hols part 2

Over the holidays the Science museum was pretty nice inside although if you looked from outside you may have been deterred..The Mammoth exhibition was in full swing with queues winding all the way down the street. Luckily it was in a separate section and so we were not affected. Dylan is really into animals at the moment and loves looking at the wild animal section (yes they are .stuffed animals...eww..) but with no Pilanesberg down the road..it will have to do:)
Maya also loves walking around that section...that is until she gets to the glass covered tree stump adorned with insects and a baby frog....she is very nervous and won't step onto it...feels it out with her hands but still won't step on it...pic below.

This holiday has been great for the two kids they are interacting well together and Maya has grown so much she is more like a real little person to Dylan...someone he can play with. He loves having her nearby. When we are going down to the car we always pass Ciro's scooter and Dylan likes to sit on it well now he wants Maya there too..."Maya come ere" The other day when he was having a ride o the ten kwai machines i asked if she could join and he agreed..

Pics below are from Metropolitan park...Maya was awake and all over for a bit then passed out for a nap. Dylan loved flying his kite.

We were down at Chung yo getting some stuff at Jason's and decided to check out the Yuku island there..nervously mind you as it was still vacation so we thought it might be busy.... To our surprise it was completely empty..this was last week though so I reckon everyone had finished spending their red envelope money because even the toy stores were empty! Lots of fun. I know the pic below is blurry...but i just loved the way the two of them were on the mini round about..they were just too fast.

We went up to Taipei last week to pick up Maya's passport and we stayed overnight. We went up with the intention of going to the zoo on the Monday..now Monday's are usually quiet as some sections like the nocturnal house are closed...not that Monday...the pandas are there...we had to queue for tickets to get in and then as you entered the zoo you had to draw a ticket which meant you could then line up for ages waiting for your designated time and then file past the panda enclosure for no more then 8 minutes....hmm... we had no intention of going in ..maybe later in the year when all the fuss has died down. So as I walked in the lady told me to draw a ticket and I said I did not want to see the pandas ...she nearly fell over. I think we were the only people in the zoo that day that did not see the pandas. We had a great day though.

We also went to the astronomical museum which is always nice...lots of stuff to look at and buttons to push:)) Maya was a handful though she just wanted to be everywhere...and not in arms..she wanted to walk.

Maya watches....

Maya touches...

Maya slept through the whole zoo experience...I was so looking forward to seeing her reactions...:((( next time...

We ended up at the Tiger bowling alley/arcade one morning with the idea of playing arcade games but Dylan wanted to bowl...the smallest shoes were still too big but the lightest ball was very light so okay. He loves playing Lilo and stitch bowling on the computer so... He did well for his first try and even got two spares:) Maya was observing and cheering him on...very excited! The only problem was because his ball was so light we often had to wait for it as it didn't move through well. The bowling alley is really great...smoke free etc..so nice for the fam.

High five!

And then a postscript. Every time I am at the zoo I mean to take a pic of the "poop recycling" 'awareness campaign'..chuckle!
