Quick update

August has come and time so time for a quick update... We have been back at work for two weeks .. my afternoon group are grade ones and they have successfully exposed me to all their little germs..so i have had a cold for the past week going on two..getting better after a rough week last week. The kids are both doing fine back at school although Maya was not happy for the first few days. Dylan loves his teacher and was also happy to see his classmates.
Maya is chatting a lot "nana (banana) cup, bowl, " oh yes and both of them love "oswald the blue octopus.. she says o..ald"..she is also throwing some elaborate tantrums...complete with a little jig and throwing herself onto a chair/the floor.
Time for bed...some pics but cam was on wrong setting so not best :) Oh yes and due to H1N1 they have closed the pool in our building a month early...no cases here but precautionary..:(((

Homemade ice cream and cones:) We are a no dairy and wheat fam . So managed to make these and had extremely happy kids as a result:) Cones look like crumpets but actually set hard:))

Last few days of hols

We go back to work on Monday so the holidays are wrapping up. it has been a great , relaxing time with the fam and apart from the typhoon, the weather has been good most of the time. We have managed to get a lot of swimming in..not many pics as we're in the water most of the time:)
Maya and Dylan have grown so much this holiday and they are actually enjoying each others company more....so much so that if one is sleeping the other tries everything to get them awake. Maya wants to do everything that Dylan does and he gets very protective over her..even if she is in trouble for trying to put her finger in an electric point!!!!! He does not like it when she is in trouble. They have become real partners ..ganging up on their parents at times... e.g . Maya gets the swimsuits out and hands Dylan his saying "Wim" then he gets excited and they both start getting undressed!!!!!

Here are some pics of this and that:) Long sleeves do not indicate colder weather:)) still HOT here but indoors they have the AC set for polar bears.

I can no longer drink anything alone:) I get this passion fruit pearl balls juice..so i get a small straw for Maya so she can't suck up the bigger stuff...


She realizes my straw is different and won't have any of that.:))

Kenting breakaway

So kinda on the spur of the moment we decided to head down to Kenting on Wedneday and stay till Friday..we were planning to go some time this holiday but had not planned when. I phoned a hotel (A gong hotel)that i found online and they had room so off we went... there was a typhoon heading our way for later in the week but we figured we would be back before it:) Turns out we ended up travelling in it..well the outer bands of it as it was heading in.We left early Friday morn. Hit the worst wind outside Taichung but the rain was terrible down in the south.
Our time down there was great though.. Stopped at the aquarium on the way down and then had some fun beach time. Maya was very nervous though and very reluctant at first. The hotel had a pool which was just perfect...right outside our room!! Still pouring here so i have cabin fevered kids...here are the pics.....
