Rainy days are here

Although the plum rain season is supposed to start in June..it feels like it is here. It is pouring outside so this is a quick post..nothing like going to bed and having the rain outside. Both kids are fast asleep. Maya is into everything at the moment and she particularly likes eating books!!Arghhh!! And today we had two full lying on the floor kicking and hitting with fists tantrums...ahhhhh she is only 15 months...She loves to eat food too:)) Saying "um" when she is hungry. Ciro came to fetch me yesterday because of the rain and they all sat inside watching a video with the kids that were waiting for their parents....Maya was terrorizing the one boy who had no interest in playing with her..running up to him shouting"ahhhhh" with a big open mouth. He kept saying "sit down baby" :)) She also gets loads of smiles when we are out walking as every person we pass gets a "bye bye"

We went to see Monsters vs Aliens last weekend. Dylan enjoyed the movie although he was a little nervous at parts. We picked up the set of toys from Mac d for him and he loves recreating everything that happened. He even had play doh forming the soil surrounding the robot probe....spent ages on it. Dylan is quiet tolerant of Maya but there have been a few pushes over the last while..he feels bad immediately when she starts crying and says "its ok". I have my hands full a bit with the two of them..if Maya is upset...Dylan gets very upset at her crying. Dylan fell and hurt himself the other day and he was crying...Maya threw herself on a pillow and started crying...so... hectic at those times but they also like laughing together!!!!!

Maya loves her doll...she walks around patting it on the head saying "bao bao" which is hug in Chinese.

Busy at work.

While playing computer games the other day Dylan got the picture of himself with Daniel and Gabriel he wanted them to 'see' the game.

At the park the other day Dylan was going through all the exercise equipment there..Maya was paying close attention...and then tried to instruct others:))

On Saturday I had to go on a field trip with school so the kids had a daddy's day! They went to the Science museum and then Mos for lunch. A fun time was had by all. Dylan got a dinosaur at the museum which Maya was excited about so she got her own colourful one. Very excited about her dino!! Dylan loved the music exhibit where you can press buttons to play the instruments.

Pics from out and about in the week...at Carrefour and on the 10 kuai rides.

Been a while again..I have all good intentions of blogging at least once a week..but then something happens. All good though. Maya has just become a bit of a handful and she is into everything so constant watch is necessary and while Dylan is an excellent watchman when it concerns his things..his breakfast, his toys etc... he is not to worried about anything else she gets up to:)) In fact sometimes they are in cahoots... like him helping her open the fridge...hmm!!!

Maya has had a bit of a cold..but so cute..she doesn't like the medicine we are giving her..but if you cheer and clap for her she will take it..in fact she will do anything if you cheer and clap for her and say she is good!!! When Ciro gets home at lunchtime she stops whatever she is doing and says "baba" or "daddy" (baba is chinese for daddy and the nurse refers to baba when he picks them up) If she gets hold of something that she is not supposed to have..like a half open bottle of water that Dylan did not close properly..she runs away with it...knowing very well she is not supposed to have it. I gave her a 'time out' the other day..she kept trying to play with a plug...she was slightly confused and a little unsettled (she knows 'time-out' from seeing Dylan) Dylan was very interested in the whole process and quiet happy it was not him.
Dylan is doing well he is really into his singing and dancing ...but not necesasrily mine..when i sing in the car the cd is requested... hmmm...should i be offended:)))) He is speaking more and today his teacher was happy because he is using more Chinese in class too. On the weekend we went for a (very)long walk ...well both days... Up past Wen shin road along Daye and then across to Gong yi to an area with loads of restaurants. Dylan loves being out and really enjoyed the walk, there is a park next to Carrefour with an excellent see saw and swing...Actually the first time he has been on a proper swing...he was more interested in the see saw though. No pics of that..too busy with the little Maya who just wanted to slide:)

We have often driven past a restaurant on Gong yi road and wanted to stop there...old looking building..there is never parking nearby though..so this time we were on foot and decided to stop. Really beautiful inside, we had a private tatami room..overlooking the fish pond!!! Lovely!!! Dylan loved the place and although Maya slept (nice and comfy) once she woke up she too enjoyed it:) Pics below...
