Wedding and winter is here!!

Last weekend we went to Beryl and A-bei's wedding reception. It was in Changhua..right next to the old bowling alley we used to go to. A really nice wedding, loads of yummy seafood on a beautiful winter's day. Dylan entertained himself with a car Ciro got him and Maya entertained herself with everything on the table!!!!
Somehow I had everything organised except batteries..switched camera on and realised battery was dead...thought that was okay because of phone camera...10 minutes later that battery died too...so thanks to Vivian and Karen for taking the pics!!!

Winter is here and this weekend it has really cooled down. Both kids had colds again this week. They are on Chinese meds and feeling much better today..yay!! Maya has grown so much and is making so many different facial expressions..tha latest is this open mouthed...ahhh!!!!(It is ahappy face:))))Pic is below and if you look carefully you can just see her one bottom tooth! Still just one.

Birthdays and bye bye

Last week was Ciro's birthday...D and I made him a cake. Dylan was super excited and sat in front of the cake for about twenty minutes as we eagerly awaited Ciro coming back from work. The weather is still warm but not the unbearable heat of summer so most of the weekend was spent outdoors.... Dylan rode his bike round the block too (well sat on it and kind of pedalled with a lot of help from mommy:)Finally managed to get the photos to upload!!
Maya is moving all over the place...she is into everything and if you dare remove something from her..a little tantrum follows!! . Maya has been making ba ba sounds for a while...then we noticed she began waving and the sound sounded more like bye bye...today when we dropped them off at school i wanted to show her teacher..so i said bye bye to prompt the imitation...instead of the mimic came floods of tears...this time she did not want to bye bye... Maya saying bye-bye

Maya is pulling herself up on things or people...she really wants to get moving.

Lots of running around and playing with Daddy!

Maya loved going on the slide...did not want to stop.

Folk Village

Yesterday we went out to the Taiwan Folk Village close to Huatan.. When I was first here it opened and was a combination of an amusement park and a folk village introducing a person to the way life used to be in Taiwan.Ciro and I went out there not long after we got here and it was pretty delapidated. We thought we would go and see if they had done anything new with it. Well fans of Gibli's "Spirited away" would feel as though they were transported into the movie. It is even more run down now...although there was still a bus tour there (they did not look that happy about it) There was also a film crew there using the old authentic houses for a set. Apparently there is a show on at the moment too with performances twice a day so there are still a few stores open.. oh and let us not forget the parking lot which has been converted into a racetrack for screeching joy riders...but for the most part it is completely run down...great place to take pictures though and Dylan had a great time running around the place. And Maya well she slept... we were going to stop by Karen and Hogie's to see new baby Jevin...it turned out to be a real quick stop..D fell asleep in the car after all the running...what a cute little guy Jevin is with the most gorgeous hair!!! Somehow i didn't take a pic:((

The broken down little kiosk for buying tickets(yes you still have to buy a ticket)..but there is still something going on here...a magic show of sorts..no amount of magic is going to fix this place.

The race track in the parking lot.

The grand entrance.
Water buffalo??? extras on the film set.

Maya slept through everything..

A fish got so excited about being fed it nearly jumped right out of the pond and splashed Dylan.

The old log ride..Ciro went on that last time we were there...at that time it was the only ride still working.

Dylan loves collecting pebbles..in fact they usually end up in my bag..we manage to dump this one before that happened.

D really loved this stone horse.
And here are some of the young lady this morning. The pink teddy is the same one from pics in the hospital
